JOHN DAY EMERGENCY GANTRY CRANE REPLACEMENT
The project included the design, fabrication, factory test, delivery, installation, load test, final commissioning, and dismantling of the old crane. The new Intake Emergency Gantry Crane has a lifting capacity of 585 tons, lifting height of 183 ft, its dead weight is 850 tons, height of 85 ft and span of 26 ft. We replaced and installed new pole bases, new poles and conductor wires. The existing 480 ton gantry crane was removed and disposed of. The existing crane contained hazardous materials, lead based paint, and asbestos that needed to be disposed.
BCI was the subcontractor on this project and completed 100% of the removal and installation of the live conductor wires, conductor poles, their concrete bases live wires and their proper tensioning and alignment.
