Project Description

FALL CREEK REGULATING OUTLET

Project Details

At the Fall Creek Regulating Outlet structure, BCI is replacing four 6ft x 12ft 12,000lb sluice gates and rehabilitating their associated actuators.  Each hydraulic actuator must be drained, be disassembled prior to transport down into a 100 ft access gallery, then moved up the gallery to the access hatch.  The hydraulic actuator jug is then sent to a fab shop where it is inspected and rehabilitated.  While the hydraulic actuator is being rehabbed the existing gate is removed and recycled.  New gates are being fabricated by G&G Steel and are installed prior to the installation of the refurbished hydraulic actuator.
