Project Details

BCI performed the following tasks at the Hells Canyon Power Plant:

• Perform a pre-load test crane inspection on the 380-ton crane, including the aux hook.
• Perform pre-load test inspection and NDE on lifting beam
• Perform load rate test of each individual hook (two 190-ton hooks and one 25-ton hook).
• Perform load rate test to 125% of rated capacity.
• Perform load rate test of hooks and lifting beam assembly.
• Perform load rate test to 125% of rated capacity.
• Perform a post-load test crane inspection on 380-ton crane.
• Perform post-load test inspection and NDE on lifting beam.
• Perform inspection and NDE of 2 additional lifting devices not used in the 380-ton assembly.

BCI performed the following tasks at Brownlee Power Plant:

• Perform a pre-load test crane inspection on both the 300-ton and 400- ton cranes, including the aux hooks on both gantry cranes.
• Perform pre-load test inspection and NDE on 2 lifting beams and rotor lifting device required for the 700-ton pick.
• Perform load rate test of each individual hook (two 154-ton hooks, one 25-ton hook, one 400-ton hook, and one 20-ton hook). Perform load rate test to 125% of rated capacity.
• Perform load rate test of hooks, lifting beams, and rotor lifting device assembly either as an assembly or as separate components. Perform load rate test to 125% of rated capacity.
• Perform a post-load test crane inspection on both the 300-ton and 400- ton cranes, including the aux hooks on both gantry cranes.
• Perform post-load test inspection and NDE on 2 lifting beams and rotor lifting device.
• Perform inspection and NDE of two additional lifting devices not used in the 700- ton assembly.
• Replaced the end trucks and all the gearing on the end truck drive for the 300-ton
