Project Details

BCI Construction, as the prime contractor, successfully undertook the challenging project of trunnion pin and seals replacement, as well as spillway gate machinery rehabilitation at the Center Hill Dam in Lancaster TN. With expertise and precision, they replaced gear motors, gear reducers, brakes, and couplings on the tainter gate machinery, not to mention rehabilitating the existing helical gear reducers and giving the machinery and machinery structural frames a fresh coat of paint. Open gear covers, gear oil, gearbox seals, and bearings were all replaced, along with the spillway gate control panels, which were upgraded with new remote operation control panels and encoders. Additionally, BCI Construction provided new spillway and machinery lighting, replaced spillway power and lighting feeders, and diligently wired new and existing equipment with top-notch materials. They also ensured the installation of a new tainter gate trunnion pin, expertly handling the removal of the old pin, in-place boring of the trunnion, and seamless installation of the new trunnion pin. To complete the project, all tainter gate seals were replaced, and the tainter gate was meticulously painted in the seal areas. BCI Construction also went the extra mile by providing and installing new trunnion access ways, ladders, handrails, fall protection points, and trunnion grease lines. Their commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of this remarkable project.
