Project Details

Belleville Lock & Dam was a three-phase project. The first phase involved sandblasting and metalizing 10 350-ton tainter gates, with a floating plant used for equipment. In the second phase, five 160-ton emergency bulkheads and a lead-contaminated picking beam were blasted and painted. For the third phase, the bridge crane was also blasted and painted. BCI designed a negative air containment system capable of withstanding 100 MPH storm conditions. Notably, the project was completed ahead of schedule.
